45 minute free ride into the 'subconcious mind' jam, sometimes soothing, sometimes awkward but always moving.
Everyday sounds are re-used to build free flowing movements of 'huis, tuin en keuken' meditations, inter spaced or even propelled by hand-percussion and feedback.

ERNIE McCRACKEN - APPROACH FEAR c30

I've been organizing shows in Den Haag now for the last couple of years (just checked and damn, the first Helbaard show was in august of 2005) and this guy showed up for a lot of the shows. He didn't really talk much and usually just sat there in the dark and it was really hard to get a conversation going. Didn't really help that he communicated in this undecipherable mumble and now that i know him a bit better i must say that besides being very antisocial he's also not a really nice guy. Anyways one day he turns up with this tape and gives it to me to check out, sort of forgot about it and when i came across it a few weeks later i popped it in and was pleasantly surprised by what turned out to be retardo vocal exercises accompanied by bongo. It's not really sound poetry and it doesn't try to be but it definitely explores structures and pronunciations and is strangely moving. The A side is one long track and two shorter ones on the B side.
